Social Media Posts

For the past year, I have been curating content for OneWater’s social media output. This last November, I ran a social media campaign to encourage people to donate on #GivingTuesday. Below are a few posts from Instagram. In September of 2020, I started a writerly journal called Tea & Kettle that focuses on finding inspiration through lyrics, poems, and quotes from books, articles, and inspirational people. In collaboration with Rose & Clay Earrings, I created some content for their Instagram. I also designed the logo for the podcast Creatively Unwritten and will be curating content for the podcast when it launches in spring 2021.

Podcast Scripts

The writing group I was a part of decided to create a community for newbie writers by starting a podcast, Creatively Unwritten. The goal behind the podcast is to help newbie writers in the writing process and help them meet their goals. My responsiblity is to co-write the scripts that we generally follow, allowing room for a more conversational tone. This podcast will go live in spring 2021 and will soon have an accompanying website and Instagram. Stay tuned!

Business Case Writing

From September 2020-March 2021, I contracted with Utah Valley University to write business case studies for their MBA Program and their business journal. During that time, I have written, rewritten, and edited over 50 cases. Here are just a few examples I can share.

Articles

Two of these articles were featured content for Fresh Air Cleaning Colorado. I freelanced for this company as a content creator. The other article is part of a collaboration with Rose & Clay Earrings, a small business. This article was designed to be a press release. I have also participated in other areas of the business by creating content, event planning, and modeling (see video under social media posts).

Published Works

“Stolen Songs” and “The Cry of the Sea” are works of speculative flash fiction and were both published in the literary journal Warp & Weave (Spring Edition 2019 & 2020). “Humility: The Core Spiritual Attribute in Creating a Healthy Work Environment” was published in the Spring 2021 Edition of The Journal of Student Leadership.

Technical Writing

During my undergraduate experience, I took a technical writing course. On the left is an instruction set I wrote as an assignment for that course. On the right is a letter of intent (LOI) included in OneWater’s Grant proposal. If you click on the 'download file' button, it will take you to the full document, however, the full grant is not available; the link will take you to a document that has both the LOI and Qualification sections.

Academic Writing

As an English major, most of my final exams were research papers. I utilized library and internet databases to test my hypotheses and construct my arguments. These two essays are my best work from my undergraduate experience, both receiving As from harsh graders.

Creative Writing

First and foremost, I am a creative writer. I have dabbled in all sorts of genres and have been instructed by professionals in the art of writing. Here are a few samples ranging from Non-Fiction, Speculative Fiction, and Historical Fiction. My personal favorite is my Creative Non-Fiction piece called “The Collison.”

Miscellaneous

My first day of college was marked by something my Anthropology professor said: “All of the world’s problems would be solved if we truly knew and understood one another.” What he meant is that seeking to know someone allows space for empathy and compassion. While I lived in Russia as a volunteer, I had a hard time with some teams of mine; we lacked synergy. To better work together and create synergy, I drafted a list of 110 get-to-know-you questions, remembering what my professor had declared. I put his theory to the test and used these questions to allow my team members to get to know one another. By the end of our time together, they were my closest friends and the most efficient team in the program.
